Where did 2009 go?!

As far away as possible hopefully... 2009 was a year of much turbulance with recession, personal bumps, a lot of change... and of couse for me, turning 30! Guess I was so busy with all of this that I didn't get around to any blogging. Its either that or its facebook... which seems to be the new go-to spot of 'blogging'. Plan to get back to some bloggins this year... lets see where that goes.

In California at the moment, San Ramon... an hour out of San Francisco. Its been 6 weeks and I'm yet to make it over to the city. Headed to Yosemiti this weekend, hopefully inspiring enough for some future blogging.

Can't be in San Francisco and not visit the Golden Gate... Its a beautiful bridge, and quite amazing to see the Pacific on one side and the bay on the other. With art deco at this scale, the only thing seemed missing were some pointy vintage cars! Thanks Kristi and Brandon for taking to me over see this one...

de young museum

What was going to be the last weekend in San Francisco had various explorations of the city condensed into a couple of days... one of them to the de young museum by herzog & de meuron in golden gate park - quite a spectacular building! My favorite pictures are the last two, playing into the whole textured skin... the first with foliage (which generated the texturing of the copper panels) reflecting off the glass while looking into the fern garden... next - a pixelated look through the mechoshade..

I was fascinated by this notice (including the cling wrap) for tree removal asking for public opinion (protest) on the owner's request to remove the tree...
